What’s a Virtual Assistant and how can they help you grow your business?

Having recently set up my Virtual Assistant or VA business, I find myself explaining to lost of people what a Virtual Assistant is. If you’re wondering the same thing, read on to find out more, and find out how they can help you grow your business.

What is a VA?

The easiest way to explain what a Virtual Assistant or VA is, is a PA, or admin assistant, working virtually, usually as a freelancer.

Imagine you’re a solo entrepreneur or a small business. You run your own business. You have to think about everything – respond to customer or client queries, think about your marketing or social media strategy, finances and invoicing, on top of trying to grow your business, and think up new ideas. Except, you never have time to think of new ideas, because every day is spent doing all the other things to keep it all ticking over!

Or perhaps you’re more the creative whirlwind type – constantly creating stuff for your business, but all of those day to day mundane things are slipping because you can’t keep up. Maybe emails go unanswered, social media is non-existent, and your finances are in disarray.

In each scenario, a VA could be a real asset to your business.

How can a VA help?

Which things could you let someone else do for you? Which things do you HATE doing, that take up your time, that you see as a waste of time but really you know it NEEDS to be done?

Here’s where a VA, like me, could help you!

For an hourly rate, I can take a load off your plate (and your mind). You don’t need to worry about employing someone, paying NI or Social Security, holiday, sick leave etc. Pay for the hours I do, or reserve a set amount of hours on a retainer, and that’s all you pay!

Imagine having the headspace to be able to focus clearly on your business growth, instead of the daily running of it. If you’re constantly stuck in a cycle of trying to just keep afloat day to day, you’re never able to actually take that next step in your business. A VA can help you do that.
